I just noticed that my BlackBerry Tour 9630 records videos without sound!?

I am pretty sure something must be wrong on my end... what could it be?

It plays without sound on the blackberry and when I transfer the "*.3GP" to the PC - the player software like GOM player seems to show that there is an Audio Stream

I got "GSpot Codec Information Appliance" to analyze the .3GP and for Audio it shows:
codec: samr: AMR Narrowband
Info: 8000Hz

Hmmmm maybe it recorded just silence somehow??? why? how? must be something wrong in some settings? or some conflict? I do not want to do a full restore to resolve this...

I am really lost here, since options are really straight forward and I am not sure what to do; Please help, maybe calling BlackBerry tech support will help?

The Voice Notes Recorder works - I just tested it and it records sound

I keep testing the video and sound is not recorded :(

PS I have pretty much the latest OS on it v4.7.1.61

What OS do you have installed on it?

You should also update your profile here since it still says you have an 8703e, too.

and my OS is v4.7.1.61

Odd, I never had that problem with 4.7, but I had 4.7.1.57 and now have the beta OS 5.0.0.419 (and it still works fine for video).

OS 4.7.1.65 is the latest official OS... if you didn't want to go with a beta, you could try upgrading to that one. Here's the link:

I did a complete and full clean OS install to v4.7.1.61 and still no audio in videos

how do I obtain the beta 5.0? will I be able to downgrade if I need to? 5.0 should work with all the applications?

I'm not sure of this is related or not...

A friend of mine had a similar problem and he told me it always happens in his car. The only thing out of place is the bluetooth connection to his car radio which disables the mic on the phone. If he shuts off the bluetooth he can record voicenotes and video with audio.
