I guess I could create an .alx file to copy those over, but don't want to hack it too much

I guess I'll try that next.

I took the following files (copy and paste) and moved them to the directory where javaloader is located (for me that is C:/)....

net_rim_bb_smileys_default.cod
net_rim_bb_qm_peer.cod
net_rim_bb_qm_peer_resource_en.cod

Next go into javaloader directory and type:
javaloader -usb load net_rim_bb_smileys_default.cod
javaloader -usb load net_rim_bb_qm_peer.cod
javaloader -usb load net_rim_bb_qm_peer_resource_en.cod

If you do not want to copy and paste the 3 files into the javaloader directory then you can type this from javaloader:

javaloader -usb load C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\7290-v4.0.2.32_P1.8.0.137\Java\net_rim_bb_smileys_defau lt.cod

javaloader -usb load C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\7290-v4.0.2.32_P1.8.0.137\Java\net_rim_bb_qm_peer.cod

javaloader -usb load C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\7290-v4.0.2.32_P1.8.0.137\Java\net_rim_bb_qm_peer_resou rce_en.cod

It works like a champ on my T-Mo 7290... Sweet little app!~!!!

PIN me if you want to play with it

It's interesting, I wonder if there's other "cool" stuff hidden in the code, still doesn't make much sense why TMobile's don't seem to get this automatically, while Cingular's do.

I moved the above listed files to my c:/ directory where javaloader is installed...

Go into javaloader and type
javaloader -usb load net_rim_bb_smileys_default.cod
javaloader -usb load net_rim_bb_qm_peer.cod
javaloader -usb load net_rim_bb_peer_resournce_en.cod
LunkHead, you might want to edit your post to correct one of the file names. the 3rd one should be:

javaloader -usb load net_rim_bb_qm_peer_resource_en.cod

You left out "qm" and misspelled resource. Might give some people grief if they copy and paste.

Instead of making the ALX file, you can simply open up BlackBerry.alx and edit these lines:

Code:
            <fileset SystemSize="normal" Colour="True" Java="1.0" _vendorID="~100|114|115|118|120|122|123|124|129|130|132|133|134|136|137|138|139|140|143|148|152|153|161|166|167|168|169|170|171|176|188|192|193|194|195|196|197|198|199|200|201|202">
                <files>
                    net_rim_bb_smileys_default.cod
                    net_rim_bb_qm_peer.cod
                </files>
            </fileset>

            <fileset SystemSize="normal" Java="1.0" _vendorID="~100|114|115|118|120|122|123|124|129|130|132|133|134|136|137|138|139|140|143|148|152|153|161|166|167|168|169|170|171|176|188|192|193|194|195|196|197|198|199|200|201|202">
                <files>
                    net_rim_bb_qm_peer_resource_en.cod
                </files>
            </fileset>
Remove ~ from the _vendorID part in each of the two above. The tilde denotes 'ignore' and the pipe denotes 'or'.

I sent a request to add you Lunkhead. Looks like you can also use peoples email address. I have been able to send people emails but they stay on my pending list. Anyone figured out how to approve the request to move them from pending?

There is nothing YOU can do...the person you sent the request to has to have Blackberry Messenger installed and approve it. WHen they do, it will send confirmation back to your device and they will move from under pending.

You have to use the @carrier.blackberry.net email address. This messenger only works between blackberrys.

Oh, I tried to add my wife by using [email address]. She gets the invitation but it reponds to me like a regular email. Well, looks like I have a nice messager application with LunkHead as my only contact. He put up his unavailible sign.
