Default Problems with MAPI profile after BES Admin move

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All!

We've moved our BES Admin Account to another Exchange Server Mailbox Store successfully and BES is working except the MAPI profile! After starting the Enterprise Manager we're getting the following error message:

Failed to open the default message store using MAPI Profile 'Profile Name'. Please review the log for details. You will not be able to send messages from BlackBerry Manager by email.

We recognized that the old server name was still in the Registry under:

HKU/"SID"/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/Windows Messaging Subsystem/Profiles/"Profile Name"

and deleted them.

When we now try to create a new MAPI profile with the BB Server Configurator we're getting the following error:

The MAPI subsystem cannot be correctly initialized and used. Please make sure MAPI is installed and configured proberly.

Any ideas what the problem can be? FYI, this just happend after moving the BES admin mailbox so MAPI and everything else was working before the move ...

We also recognized that when we tried to rund the handhaldcleanup -u command the following error poped up:

OpenMsgStore() for this profile failed (8004011d)

First off, nice use of color ... I just looked at the red stuff

That said, did you set permissions on this new Exchange server for the BESAdmin account? ... 8004011d error

Also, is the new Exchange server the same version (service pack and hotfix) as the old Exchange server? If not, the BES should be changed to match the new Exchange server.

Permissions are set!

In the meantime a little success, I was able to recreate the mapi profile with the bes service account and I don't get an error anymore.

But when I logon with my account and try to start the enterprise manager I'm asked to update the profile after I've done that the error comes again.

I tried to delete my local stored profile and it's still the same, after starting the enterprise manager I get:

Failed to open the default message store using MAPI Profile 'Profile Name'. Please review the log for details. You will not be able to send messages from BlackBerry Manager by email.

When I try to edit the profile via BB Server Configurator with the beas admin it's working when I try it with my account I still get the error:

The MAPI subsystem cannot be correctly initialized and used. Please make sure MAPI is installed and configured proberly.

The reason you were getting the errors is before you migrate a the server account mailbox you must stop all the blackberry services on the BES. Once the mailbox is moved you can set the new location through server configuration and bring the services back on line. We had the same problem when we accidentally migrated the service account mailbox

A wise monkey shared this with me when we recently moved our service account to a new Exchange server:

Move the BESAdmin Mailbox
