Faster processor, high res screen, same basic device size, still WiFi, and GPS, much greater onboard device memory and application memory.
Much better.

What about the 8900's built-in GPS?
I assume/hope/pray that I can continue to use the free GPS apps that I currently use with my 8320+Freedom GPS puck? This may seem like an incredibly dumb question but the T-Mobile salesman at Costco told me today that he thought I would have to subscribe to pay services. Methinks the guy is clueless about his product but this would be a deal killer for me, if he's right.

The guy IS clueless.
Tmobile does not disable the GPS on the 8900. For the advanced GPS services like TeleNav, yes there is a subscription fee, but all the free ones will work fine.

I've had the early bricks, the 8100, the 8120, the 8300, the 8310, the Bold, the Storm and the 8900 Curve - and this is by far the best device I have had yet. The Bold is a winner on some fronts, but the size of the 8900 much much better. Best yet.

HiRes screen is what sets it apart. Plus 6X free memory, faster, and better camera, GPS. My wife still has an 8320 and it's a great phone, but the 8900 is better in almost every aspect (except typing, the 8320 is still a little bit better at that).

I agree, moved from the 8310 to the 8900
The device is amazing so much so that everyone I know with an iPhone now wants a Blackberry

Honestly I don't see any noticeable difference between the Bold and Javelin screens. Resolution is a BIT better on the 8900, but the Bold's screen size IMO is actually more 'workable'.
I really like the idea of 3G -- can any 8900 users comment on the usability of the EDGE connection? I'm a heavy user of viigo, garmin GPS, twitter, podtrapper, and opera mini.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Curve 8900)
For me, EDGE browsing speeds are good on the 8900. I also use twitter, Viigo and MapQuest Navigator and they all perform well on the EDGE connection. Something like podcasts will definitely perform better on 3G, but I still prefer downloading those via Wi-Fi.

I use Telenav, Garmin, Blackberry Maps, Google Maps, and amAze (free one). No problems.

@jeremyckitching Have you tried Ubertwitter yet? It blows away Twitterberry IMO. Way more functionality.
I also download podcasts via wifi only. I did notice the Jav heat up a little after extended wifi use -- is this just me?

Viigo and Garmin are superb (instant) on my 8900. It may be the carriers, but I didn't think ATT's 3G was that much faster than my 8900 on CBW. I don't do much internet surfing, so not a big deal to me. I have been entralled with the 8900 comong from 3 years on an 8700g. And the debate on trackwheel and trackball is over for me. The trackball is way superior.

Both screens are great. Now that I have the 8900, I can appreciate the stunning screen. My converted movies are near full screen and are (to me)HD quality.

I've noticed a slight warmth. For instance; I've been listening to iheartradio for an hour or two while reading the forum and it's a bit warm (both under the keyboard and the surface of the battery with the cover off) to the touch. My main beef with the 8900 is the way the browser handles text boxes like this one. But that's supposedly resolved in OS 5.xx (so when is that coming out of beta???)
