Default Porting Icon arrangements across Themes

Please Login to Remove!

I have rearranged all my icons where I "brought order to chaos" on the desktop with folders and all. My frustration is when I try new themes, all my icons are not picked up from the standard theme. Is there a short cut, or even a hack (e.g., copy some file from one theme to another) to preserve my desktop icon arrangements?

Thanks.

no, thats what happens when changing themes.
you select yuor layout of icons.
it then remains the same for THAT theme.

changing to a different theme, resets the icons, so you must then move to your desired layout and it will then remain like that for THAT theme.

i.e. change to each theme you are likely to use, change the icon layout to what you want.
then whenever changing themes, it will always be the same layout.

Yeah thats what I noticed. What I am hoping is maybe there is a hack at the file level where we can copy some file containing the icon arrangement info (like an .INI for windows) to another folder where the theme is.

I too have this frustration. There are so many themes I would like to try, but it is just not worth the hassle to have to re-arrange all my icons every time.
