Contacts not synching with Lotus Notes

The version of Notes is 8.5.1. Not sure what version the Domino server or BES is. I'm a new user of Notes and the company is just starting to adopt BES. I am the second user. The sysadmin was the first. He's currently overseas so I'm on my own.
My phone was just activated today. Email and the calendar are synchronizing fine, but not contacts. Wireless synchronization is enabled on the phone. I'm not sure where else to look.
Any suggestions?
