Yes...
1) Turn screen brightness down to 50-70% and enable auto dimming
2) Turn screen off time down to 10 seconds
3) Make sure WiFi/Bluetooth/NFC are all OFF, when not in use
4) Make sure you have NO apps running in background, other than the permanently running apps -- messages, browser, phone, BBM etc...
The 9900 has horrible battery life - the end.

Maybe Seidio will come out with a higher-capacity battery that fits with the standard battery cover. Not a double-power one, but perhaps a 15% or 20% increase in capacity with a high-density configuration. Or something like that.

Rambo, An update on battery life PLEASE?
Has anyone done a direct 9700 vs 9800 vs 9900 battery comparison?
I need a good 3-4 hrs talk time...

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
I came from the Droid Pro on Verizon with the extended battery and the battery on my Bold seems to be slightly better. I was 26 hours in yesterday when I plugged in at 15% and that is with fairly moderate use. I was downloading some new apps and had Endomondo pulling GPS data and listening to music while I was biking for a little over an hour. A couple phone calls and numerous text, email, BBM messages. About 7 of those hours were while it was sitting on my night stand while sleeping. Today I unplugged at 7am and I am down to 70% but it was no used most of the day since I was in school.
While I would like to see a slightly larger battery that still fits with the stock back. Coming from Android it is for sure an improvement, not as great as my Curve 8830 that could go five days or even my 9630 that did three. Better phones come at the cost of battery life plain and simple.

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
My 9900 is only two days old, but I am 8 hours into my work day today - and have had many calls and emails and Bluetooth is enabled and has been used for all calls, and I have been using the web browser a bit too - so it has been used quite a lot so far today, and my battery is at 65%... which I think is quite good.

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
It is now the end of my working day... After 13 hours and a good amount of Blackberry-ing during today my battery is down to 40%, which is good - I am happy with that.
As mentioned, I am using Bluetooth for my calls too - so I am not trying to save battery use especially.
Oh, and I am using the Blackberrys web browser to send this message too!

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
I unplugged yesterday at 7am and I am now down to 15%, I would say this battery gets better and better every day. Especially coming back from Android.

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
I'm disabled and need a phone that I can rely on it's battery in case I get into bother if I'm out.
The battery in my BB Curve 3G has not disapointed me and is lasting well, unlike the android that lasted a day or a day and a half.

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
Well, that being the case, you may be disappointed in a 99xx purchase.

Finally plugged in last night around 1am after 41 hours I was at 5%. But unplugged this morning about an hour ago and I am already down to 65% from just sitting there not being touched. Did a battery pull and I am charging it back up and hoping that was a fluke occurrence.

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
Not a good idea to run a lithium battery that low since it can damage the battery. I realize you were trying to see what you could get out of it, but it isn't a good idea to get it that low very many times.

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
Well I won't do it again for sure especially if it had something to do with my battery draining 35% in an hour with no use.

Article here from RIM on getting the most out of your battery:
BlackBerry - Battery Power Saving Tips
There's also an article on Crackberry.com today about it.

You might consider getting an extra battery and battery charger.

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
So far, I'm unsold on the 9900 with the intial reports so far. I'll wait until RIM designs a better 9900 with a better battery--the Blackberry 9950?

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
9900 is a great device, better than anything they've previously built. The only real issue with this device is its less than stellar battery life.

Re: How Is The Battery Life?
I turned my screen brightness down to 10% and keep auto dim on, never use bluetooth, GPS always on, Wifi on when I am home and try and turn it off when I leave so it's not always searching for a signal. I have weather updating every 30 minutes, two email accounts set up, check FB and Twiitter from the apps but log out when done. I unplugged Thursday at 5pm and didn't plug in till 2 am last night and was still at 40%.
I know people say the battery life on these are horrible but that is pretty darn good to me. Maybe I don't use it like others do but expecting to go days on one charge is a thing of the past with these new phones. Bigger processor, more memory, bigger higher res screens, and smaller batteries it would be silly to expect to have longer battery life than before.
If this phone had the ability to upgrade to Qnx it would be the best phone ever as far as I am concerned. That is the only thing I miss from my Droid is the apps this Blackberry has still been worth it in other departments though.
