This software looks cool, but... has anyone tried it with the 8100?

It says it works with the Pearl now, and it says it will let us choose different LED light colors as indicators for different types of messages. Colored light indicators are something I really miss from my Sidekick II. I hate to buy it without a good review from an 8100 user, though...

The guy who created it has a couple different updates out now for the pearl. I loaded it about a week ago, and it is one of the best programs on my phone. You can try it for free for 7 days.

Hi, can you provide a little more information.

I just downloaded and installed a small utility program on my PC last night and I ended up having to install a backup hard drive. I would like to try this program, but obviously some feedback would be nice so I don't repeat last night's experience.

So any input you have would be helpful, e.g.

How long ago did you install this on the Pearl, if it is a Pearl you have?

What "bugs" did you find?

Did it uninstall OK?

What OS is on your Pearl?

I tried various versions on my 8700g and. Could never get it to work right. I hope BlackBerry start using multicolor LED alerts in their stock products.

Well, since I was at the PC, said to hell with it and installed the program.

So far, so good. And I really like it. The different lights for each event is cool, especially the blue and white variations. I like that one can set the flash rate too. And it's nice to be able to set the sound and vibrations to keep going off at selected intervals until I check the phone.

Seems the lights are brighter too, but maybe that is my imagination.

Thanks for posting this. Totally cool program and it's always fun to add something new to the Pearl.

The app does a test LED's cycle. I could not believe the pearl had so many other colors than the red, blue and green I knew of.

Why do they not make use of these LED colors within the RIM software/menus so we can customize without a 3rd party app?

Who knows. I'm just glad they're on there, and that with this tool we can finally access them. The purple and aqua(cyan) are particularly SWEET!

What I love most about this program is that I can get message alerts for anything I want (except Google Chat, unfortunately) without having to use noises. I work in a cube farm and I don't want to be disrespectful toward my coworkers by having my phone make noises all day long, even if they're relatively quiet. This phone's vibrate feature is next door to useless. Using the LED is perfect. I can keep my phone on silent all the time and as long as it's in view, I'll never miss an alert. And now that they're color-coded, I can tell what kind of message I got as well. Very useful for helping me tell whether to drop what I'm doing or wait.

I have put this program through its paces and will probably end up buying it. Having only red as an LED for alerts drove me bananas. I only use red now for VM's.

Did anyone else get an error message after installing? Something about "unknown pointer" or something. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice and still got the same error. Other than that initial install error, it works perfectly fine.

app works great! I love the ability to "code" alerts with the differnt colors. RED is not my Google talk indicator

I've used the program for the full 7 days and went ahead and bought it. It's awesome, I missed the message sentinel when I was on sidekick too. I emailed the developer about future updates to work with GoogeTalk, but all they said was that it's not recognizable. =\ That's alright though, I particularly like how you can control the amount of time it blinks on, and the duration between blinks and also setting it to blink for a missed phone call and not just a voicemail.

I've been using this program for a few weeks now. I'm running O2 .64 on a Pearl. Absolutely no complaints, works great. The developer, Loan posts here quite often and is one of the most responsive developers I've ever worked with.

I spent weeks on the beta testing of this program. IT IS AWESOME. Multicolored LEDs are such an obvious enhancement that I don't know why RIM didn't do this in the first place.

Yes saw the same error after installing, in fact kind of screwed up my trackball. That is it would not scroll, it would, but the cursor did not move. I simply re-started my BB and have not seen the error again. Also looking very good so far using the trial version, but will probably go ahead and purchase it.

Where do you get the trial version? I went to the link in the first post but it looks like you can only buy there.
