8700c Screen went haywire!!!

I pulled my blackberry out of my pocket, and whalla! The screen was toast. I attached what it looks like. I tried restarting it many time. Took out battery and re-inserted, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone ever seen this??

FYI-I did not drop it, it was not near water or magnets, nothing!! I dont get it.

My friend bought an 8700c from AT&T during their refurb program and had a failed screen after only a few months. By any chance is yours a refurb?
