MAJOR question about messaging in Black berry.

I do not own a blackberry, but some people i know do own one.
and my question is, if they send me a message and i read it but decide to reply later. will they know that i read it? like are they going to get an alert or a message telling them that the message got sent and the person read it???

please. i need to know.

erm no. they can know it has been delivered (if they have delivery reoprts on), but that just means your phone has received the message.
