Either your error is because you have corrupted data on the phone in which than you need to do...

Currently,users are recieving the action required update password emails on the BB to validate email accounts.

You cannot validate,BIS will tell you password is invalid.

If you've got a backup somewhere on your computer yeah sure you can restore that backup to the new pearl no problem,if you wanna sync you need outlook or some other messaging client.
