Default Does the Motorola H700 headset use the same connector

Please Login to Remove!

Right now I have a Motorola HS850 that will not charge because of the traditional flimsy Motorola style connector. I've seen other Bluetooth headsets that have mini USB connectors and was wondering if the new Moto headset has the same traditional Moto connector or have they upgraded.

Does anyone have a H700 and can you tell me how the charging cord connects?

I have the H700 and it uses the same plug as the mini USB that plugs into a BlackBerry. Hope that answers your question.

Thanks for the quick answer. Will it charge from the USB port of a laptop?

Picked up a new H700 on Thursday replacing the HS850. First impressions are good. I like the size reduction and really like the fact that I can charge using the Blackberry charger or the BB cord plugged into a USB port. Sound quality is as good as the H850 and people on the other end don't even know that I'm on a headset.

I have an H700 and it uses the mini USB connector to charge. I find it quite handy as I can use the same cord as that for my BB as well. BTW, I do have some major issues with volume, noise and lack of comfortability with this unit. Honestly it wasn't worth anywhere near what I got soaked for it.

Oh, and btw, I also use a BB7130e. I absolutely LOVE the BB. I am actively searching for a new headset, though.

It's funny that you mention that people on the other end don't know you're on a headset. With mine, it seems that the mic volume is cranked way too high. As a result, unless I literally talk only barely above a whisper, the other party complains that they can't make out what I'm saying due to the extreme distortion. To the point that they demand I remove the headset to talk to them. Conversely, I find the volume in the earpeice for me is way too low. When I am driving, I have to have one hand forcing the thing painfully into my ear in order to hear the other party I'm talking to.

Weird....

I'm fortunate that I did not have to pay for the H700. My company has an in house person who handles all of our telecom needs and she had several types of BT headsets that I could choose from. I've read some reviews online and folks seem to either love or hate the H700. Guess I got lucky.

Curious.... Do you have the same issues with mic versus headset volume that I am having (i.e. mic is distortingly loud/headset is too quiet)?

Unhappy H700 owner,

Unhappy H700 owner,
I have an H700, and have no complaints about volume, mic or speaker. The sound is very good, and the dsp seems to work very well. All functions, voice dialing etc... work perfectly for me with my 8100. I had a 7100 previously that the audio was fine, but I couldn't get mute to work from the headset, I had to initiate mute on the phone.

I am looking for another headset though. My wife wants a bluetooth headset, and I thought about giving her the H700 and finding something else to try. I was looking at the Discovery 655, but I have read all of the complaints about a delay on here. Now I am looking at the Nokia BH-800.

The 7130e is CDMA right? The H700 had a quality issue with CDMA handsets only, that was later corrected. There are version "A" and version "B" headsets. Just look at the numbers on the back of your headset. One should look like SYN1311A, which I have. If yours ends in "A", you may be able to get Motorola to send you a replacement "B" version. I only use GSM phones, so I have never had an issue with the "A" version.

I have a Nextel 7520, and I have a H700, just like other people, it hurts my ear, and I can't hear well on it...do you think its the phone I'm using, or should I try to get a replacement?
