This morning I executed "JavaLoader -usb wipe" to clean my phone which worked 100%. I then fired up desktop manager 4.01 to re-install the OS and nada. There is no option there to re-install the OS.
Can someone pls tell me where to get the OS from or if it does exist in DM somewhere, how to install it. I feel like I have lost my legs with my BB sitting here with a nice 507 error on startup.
First of all - have you downloaded and installed the handheld OS for the 7290? You have to have two pieces - the Desktop manager (which you have) and the handheld OS (which may be missing). Download it and install it. Then locate and delete "Vendor.XML" from your C: drive.
Restart Desktop Manager and it should detect and reload the OS. Good luck.
Answer: No I have not downloaded the OS yet. I have been googling for a bit to try and find it but no luck. Can you please point me in the right direction?
From what I have found so far, each network has it's own download for it's implementation of the OS?
As seen in this thread http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=1871
My network "Vodacom - Vodafone South Africa" does not have any downlinks at all. As far as they are concerned, I have to send my phone in?
I did the obvious and phoned my carrier and they are emailing me the OS right now.
And pls note the mistake in the subject of my post. It is a 7290 and not a 4290. Me dumbass
Thanks for the tips guys. Hopefully I come right now.
