I have had my BlackBerry 8310 just over a month now, and out of nowhere the trackball started giving me problems, it works fine and normal going in any direction except left... any ideas?

Get a can of compressed air and spray the ball, you might have lint or something small stuck.

Press down on the track ball and scroll it at all direction to lossen up the lint/dirt inside, if it doesn't help, you need to dis-assembly the track ball and clean it.

Mkay ill give it a shot, i figured it couldn't be that the trackball needed cleaning already. Because if I would have had to of brought it into an AT&T store every month to get it cleaned i would have cried haha.

The fix recommened by RIM is the push and roll the trackball method. I just push and hold the mute key to put the device in standby and then push and roll the trackball until it frees up. Works every time.

Good to know John, Thanks a lot =D. I was in the middle of some brick breaker and it just went crazy... Almost beat my girl friends score too =\

Update: Tried the recommended fixes, couldn't get it to work... It sounds like something is grinding in there when i try to move it left... but only left... I'm probably going to have to take it apart it seems...

I'm going to have to go to an AT&T store today and find out. I have the insurance, so it shouldn't be a problem. But I have this guy feeling they are going to make me claim it and fork up 50 bucks... I never have luck with cell phone companies lol
