Exclamation To return or not to return...almost giving up.

I am having a dickens of time with my 8330 curve and it's cooperation with our BES network. My carrier (alltel) says their half is fine, my IT guys says he has done all he could do. Ahhhhhhhhh! I am going to bring together my alltel person and my IT peson to talk.

Alltel says because: Options>Security>General Settings (scroll down to) IT POLICY Name: Default

That means that I am somehow hooked up to my work BES system. Does that ring a bell to any of you guys/gals?

I thought this was going to be easier...

Yes, if it shows that you have a 'Default' IT Policy, then the device is connected to a BES. I'm not quite sure how to deactivate it from the BES, but you are connected to one.

Thanks.

The problem I am having is that alltel says the problem is not on their end and my IT guy says it isn't on his end. I cannot access BES. I was able to when I first set up but it just stopped working day before yesterday. I wiped out my curve and for a bit wasn't even able to access BIS, I have that now but activation for BES repeatedly fails.

Could it be a hardware problem? I mean if all of my peers BB is working fine on the BES, isn't that helpful info?

I appreciate your thoughts...

You may want to review the Blackberry FAQs (see link on menu bar at top). Specifically, under Internet and Email FAQs, General FAQs, Remove IT policy.

Finally, we got it fixed. It required going through alltel first person, alltel "expert" bb person, and then finally a transfer to RIM themselves in Canada. What seemed to fix it was a BES restart (router, plus two other things - I don't recall). But now my theme which is Today, my calendar is not working (e.g. my appointments are not showing on the 'desktop'). BUT I don't dare trouble my IT guy with this...just yet. Anyone have thoughts? Thanks!

Sounds like you need to re-sync with the BES server.
