So, uh, question (and forgive me if it's stupid):

Can I not change the default icons even in the L theme? I downloaded the 4.2 version, by the way, since I haven't felt like upgrading my OS for months. I messed around with it a bit earlier but had a meeting and didn't really have much time with it. I love the way it looks and functions but if it's like the bottom dock themes where I can't customize the home screen icons then I don't think I'll use it.

So, help me out in case I'm just missing something.

You are not missing anything... The icons on "custom" themes such as Bottom Zen, L, Double Zen, etc, etc can not be changed. It is a limitation within the builder itself, it has nothing to do with the developer.

Adding to Scott's reply...The new Theme Builder does not include actual templates for Bottom Zen, L, Today Plus etc. When compared to the previous version, the new Theme Builder has one additional template, "Custom". Icons are manually repositioned by the theme builder to achieve a desired theme style (e.g. Bottom Zen or L, etc.). The new 'custom' template is based off of the BB Dimension Today template, which also doesn't allow for user configuration of the icons on the today screen.

Gah. I was afraid of that. I experienced this when I first downloaded a bottom dock Bold homage theme from somewhere else a month or two ago. I understand this is not slmoney's fault, I just wanted to make sure this is an across the board thing, in which case it is frustrating. I have a Dimension L theme that is customizable and I love it. It's perfect. Except for the boring stock BB icons. But, I guess I'll give this a try for a while and see how it goes, but I suspect I'll just go back.

It's a gorgeous theme, this one, slmoney. I wish you weren't so hamstrung.

I feel like an addict because of the number of times a day I check the Pimp My Berry Forum - Pimp Your BlackBerry! site to see if you have put the re-worked OTA download of your BOLD TODAY & BOTTOM DOCK Theme....LOL. Just waiting to see if you have figured out that calendar fluke thing that's going on.

Hurry, I need my fix!!!!

Likely programs you don't have installed. I didn't install it but it looked like it also had SMS icon which you have to specify in message options that you want SMS separate

Or if you installed the 4.2 version by mistake, the BB Messenger icon will not show.

Try setting your SMS and email inboxes to separate.
