There has been a delay in the launch of the 7100i. There is an issue with the push to talk ?chirp? volume being too low. This is being worked on and Sprint Nextel is looking at a mid to late October launch.

Are there any physical specs in the brochure for the 7100i? I'd like to compare it to earlier 71xx models.
Thanks for the picture.

My Gov't rep says that it will be out this month. No indication as to specific date, but the Happy Halloween comment would fall right into place for the October release. Assuming that everything goes into place. Everyone talks about what they'd like, but I would think one of the best things would also be to have a Direct Talk enabled Blackberry. I've seen problems on here about the 7100g, but everyone that I know that has one loves them. Much better than the bulky 7520. I didn't upgrade my 7510 just because I was hoping the 7100 would be coming out, now 8 months later.

Nextel BLackberry support is being told that the launch is this month October. I believe it was susposed to be the 7th. It will support recieving of MMS messages. I personally dont like the keyboard for teh 7100's I like the full qwerty keyboard.
Want to know anything else? Ask and Ill give you what support has been told.

So where did they put the DC button? I wish it was on the side like other Nextel phones.
Also, why the Nextel logo on this phone?

The PTT button is on the side of the device.
Dawg - if you are a Nextel dealer you can find the new flyers on INC. The BES and general BB flyers have both.

More info on 7100i
two tidbits of info I just got from my corp rep....
1) the info card she read to me indicated the 7100i will have real SMS (don't know if that had been posted before)
2) there was some sort of National conference call regarding the release of this phone that took place on 10/11/05 - she missed it but perhaps someone on this board didn't ????
