Here my two cents on this upgrade, it sucks! LOL
Not sure what yall mean by fried batter but if it means that it drains super quick and you have to charge it every 8 hrs or so then it fried my battery.
Its alot slower than .52 and it hourglasses hell of alot more.
I dont seem to be getting my emails or facebook notifications and its constantly logging me off AIM and Google Talk.
With that said if I wanted to back to .21 or .52 would/could I just simply do the steps mentioned on the first page but with that given version?

If you want to downgrade, just uninstall .55 from your PC by going into Control Panel >Add/Remove Programs. As long as you still have .52 installed, you won't need to install it again. If you dont, just install .52 again. Then connect and run DM and application loader and it will downgrade back.

Gracias.
Lets just say that I wanna return the phone to its stock form. What should I do? Uninstall both .81 and .52 from my computer?

Same process. Just make the OS that you want on the device the latest installed on your PC. Just uninstall any newer OS's than the one you want.

You have to open Application Loader and do it manually. It won't give you a popup message saying a downgrade is available.

Question no vendor.xml created after upgrade

Upgraded the OS from 4.2.2 to this release after the 1st week with my T-Mobile 8320. The whole thing went smoothly and I like the improvements. When I went back to the DM the 2nd time, it did the checking and prompt for 4.5 upgrade again. I noticed that the vendor.xml has not been recreated. Now, I have to wait for checking and cancel the upgrade prompt every time I open the DM. Does anyone know how to revolve this nuisance? Thanks.

You can't, for now. It checks, but there is nothing there.

The best I have seen is just be patient.

This was an issue on the latest OS's. After upgrading, when you plug it back in, it still thinks there is an upgrade. If you continue through all the way to the end, you'll see that it doesn't actually add/remove any modules. Just go through to the last screen where it says exactly what modules are going to be added/removed. If none, just hit finish and it should be fine after that.

The reboots have gotten worse recently. I pulled the media card yesterday and the next 3 phone calls all caused the phone to reboot. I am probably going to drop back down to the latest 4.2 software T-Mobile has on their website and see if the issue goes away.

Default My experience with the new OS version

I've had it running for a few days now. I like being able to see images in my email, albeit with some harsh pixelation (Sarah Palin in a bikini holding a gun just isn't clear enough). I really like being able to use the Zen L themes.

Aspects that irk me are...

- The loss of my Texas Hold 'Em program (tried to do the free upgrade like I did from version 2 > 3, but I had to buy the game again)

- Loss of my MyFaves images

- Now that I have the latest versions of DM and Theme Builder, my laptop takes forever to come up. I get the wallpaper for a couple of minutes before anything else shows up. Nothing stands out in my process list, other than the usual suspects (explorer, ESET, Webroot and my browser).

- Many icons and images from before the switch are now un-aliased (ragged)

- Opera Mini seems to have difficulty running. Had to re-install it and it's still not up to my pre-upgrade speed.

I'm sure I'll have more pros & cons later.

Downgraded back to 4.2.2.180 and made several test calls. None of them caused a reboot compared to yesterday when every single time I used my 8320 for a voice call it rebooted.

Now that I have the handset in a "wiped" condition (with only the basics that comes with 4.2.2.180 and whatever T-Mobile sends over), I'm going to upgrade back to the latest 4.5 and test.

JC... let's say someone was able to find this. Is it a good build? Any dangers or major problems you know of?

Well, even though some people have had problems with this release, I am going to risk it and give it a try. I would install 4.5.0.69, but since it is a beta, I hesitate to do so.

"Unreleased," not beta. Big difference.

I'm confused. This post mentions 4.5.069 being "out there" on 09/07, yet the thread subject is "Latest OS: 8320 4.5.0.81/4.5.0.55 (English + East Asian Languages)". So, .69 is newer than .55, but older than .81? I guess there's something about the '/' that I don't understand. Thanks in advance.
