Default Handheld Calendar Entries Don't Sync to Outlook

Please Login to Remove!

I recently upgraded my OS to 4.5.0.55. I really like the new OS, but now I'm seeing a problem. I'm running BIS.

My calendar entries on my 8310 don't sync to Outlook (2007), but Outlook calendar entries sync fine to the handheld. I checked my Sync configuration and everything looks OK. I know it was fine before I upgraded.

Any suggestions on how I fix this? Thanks.

have you tried running a one-way sync from your phone to outlook, clear your calendar entries (DMGr>backup>advanced), and then re-sync with two-way?

that helped clear some cal issues on my end.

What is your default calendar? options>advanced>default services

Is that set to the account you are trying to sync with? If you're at 4.5 then you have the ability to use multiple calendars. What may be happening is that when you add an item to your calendar on the BB, it may not be the calendar that is setup to sync to your Outlook. This has happened to me.

But if you add an item in Outlook and it appears on your BB, you may perhaps be looking at two different calendars on your device.

No. I haven't tried this yet. I'm going to try switching my default calendar first.

I wasn't aware of this. Now that I check, I'm seeing that the meetings I set up on my BB were for a different account than my default was set for. This would seem likely to be the cause of the problem, but I'll see when I get a chance to re-sync. Thanks.

This did, in fact, turn out to be the problem. I was looking at 2 different calendars on my BB.

Now the next question is, is there a way to copy an appt. from one calendar to another? I somehow now have a hodgepodge of mixed appts. on my BB and when I go to sync, Desktop Mgr. now wants to delete some from Outlook. I don't see a way to do this in calendar edit on the BB.

I thought you could edit the account the appointment was associated with but it appears that you cannot. I'm not sure of the best method to consolidate your calendars...

This bites.

The other thing I'm seeing is that I use categories for my calendar in Outlook but it doesn't seem as though this field is mapped in BB Calendar, at least it's not obvious to me if it is.

I'm thinking I'll redo the appts. in Outlook, re-sync, and then delete the duplicates. Looking at my alternatives, I think that's the easiest way. From there, as I've seen mentioned, it's being conscious of the account used when putting an appt. on the BB in order to avoid this in the future.
