I just (all afternoon long) finally updated my 8300 curve to 4.5
I do have it correctly installed, but how do I get the nice "black" background themes that are shown in the youtube video (similar to the bold background)

i just have the plain boring stock themes that are originally loaded in the old os.

any ideas guys??? can I buy this?

you could download a theme with a black background

Or a new wallpaper

Search the forums for "Bold" themes. You'll need to install a new theme.

Someone here made a great suggestion for a black background. Use your phone to take a picture with your finger over the lens. I did it and it worked great.

I just saw a black background today plus (free) theme yesterday. I'll find it and include a link. It would have either been on blueroomsolutions.com or themes4bb.com.

There is a black background wallpaper somewhere. As long as the theme allows for a change to the background on the home page, you can do it that way.

Themes can vary. If you're curious then check out the various themes.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but how would you change the wallpaper for the other screens (incoming call, outgoing call, etc) other than the home screen? If you had a black home screen, all the other screens would be the original theme color. Is there a way to make all screens black?

I tried to take the black picture and set it as "the homescreen image" but I still keep getting the old blue background that I have now. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to pull the battery after I reset the wallpaper?

It depends on the theme that you're using. Some don't allow you to change the background.
