hey all,

got my new 7105t today at a store in studio city, ca. i like the black. so far, nicer screen and tighter button and click wheel feel. i like. no edge. it does seem to respond slightly faster than my pevious 7100t. also, browsing seems a bit faster as well. probably just my imagination.

cheers.

+ chris

The 7105t is supposed to have a better mic. Does it?

the t-mobile download site has 4.01 but it clearly states it is for the 7105. Does this new s/w also work on the 7100?

That's just the desktop software, not the Phone OS. Desktop software works with all devices.

Hi all. I am getting my 7105t Friday. They were for sell here on the 10th in Augusta GA. Does the 7100t or the 7105t have software were you can manage your finances or is one available? Do you know of any html webbrowsers for the device too?

Thanks

Hey, welcome from Augusta. I was stationed 8 yrs at Fort Gordon. There was a chineese soul food joint outside gate five where you could get sweet and sour something and greens and cornbread on the same plate.

Then there was Sconours (rib joint, something like that)!

The OS (4.0.2) and Desktop Manager software (4.0.1) are no different than what is available for the 7100t. The links are the exact same between the two models.

BTW, this is now available on the TMO website (not sure if it had been posted or not yet):

I am posting again, to see if anybody knows of a third party html browser? I know you used to be able to get one from REQ wireless, but not so anymore. Any suggestions?

What up soapm? I know the Chinese resturant you are speaking of, but I can't think of the name of it.

that person is a moron and is spreading uneducated information to you. the 7105 is NOT EDGE compatible. the 7130 series will be the EDGE compatible series of the slim-line generation and it will not be available on GPRS until next year.

...to add, the 7105 is the SAME handheld as the 7100, except it has cosmetic upgrades that address and fix some of the issues with the 7100t, such as the direct sunlight screen readibility. THATS ALL!

Thumbs up I got my 7105!

I got my 7105T yesterday, and they had about 30 in stock. I also live in the middle of no where, and theres not much of a demand for BlackBerry's! Its nice, the Bluetooth isn't what I expected it to be, but coming from a previous 7230 user... Its GREAT!

I'm dying to know, does the 7105 fix the Bluetooth Volume problem they introduced with the 4.0 software on my 7100? I almost hope the 7105 still has the problem, then I won't be tempted to upgrade.

Default Is the thumb wheel always this uncomfortable?

I'm new to the Blackberry scene. My first one is the new 7105t. It seems to work well except for the thumb wheel, which seems too close to the body of the unit (not enough wheel to get my thumb on) and it has lousy traction. The result is that it takes a lot of thumb rubbing on the case to actively turn the wheel. Seems like a bad design to me.

pharma, I think you're better off waiting just a little longer for OS 4.1

Angry

I got mine this morning, and the t-mobile "register new account" functionality and bwc.t-mobile.com have been down ALL DAY! Arghh. I can't even test it.

pharma, and others, the 7105 does not have any hardware improvements, from what i can tell from looking at the handheld software. its the same version thats loaded onto the 7100t, so that means the radio is the same, as well as bluetooth. under the hood, there should be no differences between it and the 7100. someone can verify from a technical person at TMO or RIM, but thats just my educated guess.

I can feel your pain. I drove to 5 stores in my city on Saturday and finally found a 7105t in-stock (at a T-mo corporate-owned location). Bought it on the spot, and was warned that 'some internet functions may take up to 24 hours to activate.'

The "register new account" function has been broken since Saturday. I called customer service last night, and they confirmed that it's a known issue and they hope to have it fixed ASAP.

So there are now 4 days gone from my 14-day trial period, and I still haven't seen email work. The reception in my area isn't exactly bad, but it's not as good as my (antique) Cingular/Nokia phone.

I really don't want to return the poor thing -- it's pretty nifty.

Rick
