Question storage mode/ saving music on bb issue

Please Login to Remove!

so i have a bit of music on my sd card as of now, but wanted to update it. I'm not a fan of media manager so the way i uploaded music onto it before was manually through the e drive.

today when i connected my bb to my computer and opened windows viewer or w/e it's called, i saw my files and dragged some new songs onto the card. when i disconnected though, it wasn't on my bb. when i just reconnected it, the computer sees the new songs on my bb, but it i disconnect, i can't find the songs. suggestions?

I had a similar issue when I first got my phone and memory card. After a few weeks, the problem seemed to have corrected itself. I attribute that to the BB "AI."

How did you guys disconnect the BB? Did you use "safely remove hardware" option on your windows taskbar before disconnecting the BB? This guarantees that the PC "flushes" the data to BB. Otherwise, data may still be in PC's cache and hence when you reconnect the BB the PC still thinks that the songs are on BB as it is reading the contents of this "hard drive" from its' cache. It is better to use "safely remove hardware" the data you intend to write ends up on the target device and the data you read from the target device is freshly read.

Just a theory based on the assumption your did NOT use the "safely remove hardware" option...

You can always Fully Power Off the phone or do a battery that will cause the BB to re-scan the media card. (OS 4.5(.0.77) has a progress bar at the bottom of the main media screen that scanning if it is actively scanning, from what I have seen.)
