Please Login to Remove!

You have more problems than a bad OS load.

Pull your battery and reboot. All those issues still exist afterward?

Yes. That's one of the first things I did (the battery pull is a lesson I learned well for solving most problems).
The only other thing I did was to optimize it. I removed all of the five favs, and languages other than english.

Desktop Manager gave me some error after it loaded everything back onto the phone, but before it restored the backup.

I restored the backup manually, and everything seems to be fine, except that under Applications, it says *** No Applications ***.

Minor nuisance. Did anyone else have this issue?

I downgraded to 4.5 b016 after my 4.7 kept failing. Maybe it's time to step back to 4.3....

"Try & try again" is my new motto.
I finally got my problems solved (all but the camera). I think I must have moved something in the optimizing process that disagreed with the phone, and that sent it into a fit. So, I started from scratch by wiping the phone, re downloading the new OS then reinstalling it. After that, I optimized VERY CAREFULLY, and everything was back to normal.
I'm beginning to see that patient is a key.
As for my camera, even though I haven't dropped it or anything like that, I'm beginning to think it's a physical issue.

Just installed this, and since done a battery pull. Things now very slow, lots of egg timer. The colour pearl application (change the colour of the thumbwheel) will not operate now.
Unless I can be convinced otherwise I will go back to 4.2 (I actually upgraded from 4.0) as I cant bear the slow speed of even selecting phone book etc.

No, we don't post or give links to any OS software here other than the official, safe links.

Yes. Check the stickys at the top of this forum. There is a new app called BlingBall that will work in 4.5. ColorPearl does not work properly in 4.5.

thank you. I removed colorpearl before I updated just in case any problems should arise. I'll give BlingBall a shot now

I just upgraded and it seems to be working well. I'm using one of the Today Plus themes from Blackberry (the one with the five icons on the right side) and the calendar entries shown on the opening screen are not the next two items, but are instead the two most recently added items, which are several months in the future. Anyone have any ideas how to remedy this? I apologize in advance if this has been answered elsewhere.

Thanks.

"Better" is not the word. The word is Bling-er. Disco mode rocks!

Can the 8100 now handle more than just avi media files or is that the same?

Still hour glasses a lot.
Dannypaul,

Not sure if you figured out your LED ALWAYS ON issue.

I had the same issue, but after searching BBF, found the cause.

You might have COLORPEARL installed. Just uninstall, and reboot. Should take care of it.

Hope it helps. And sorry, if someone already helped out.

BTW, the HTML option needs to be set to ON from options under email. Also, you will have to go to menu, after opening the email, and click on GET IMAGES. Should take care of that.

Yep, ColorPearl is outdated and doesn't work on OS 4.5. There's a sticky for BlingBall which does the same thing and works with 4.5.
