How I can make my application OpenSource, because I don't have time for support any good enhancements: loading routing list from server, create statistic GUI, save information to log, add new alert for different location, etc.?

Default Different version

I have written my own version of this software that uses a text file that has the area codes and names of the areas. It should work worldwide. Is anyone interested? This is my first blackberry program ever but it works really well.

If the number is already in the addressbook, that name will show. By using a text file, you can change area code names and numbers whenever you want.

hitechhunting.com/Files/area-code.jpg

Here's an example of text file. First line is the number of entries, then area code, then description for each one.

wojc0008,

Sounds great. I would be interested in your program and interested if it could accomodate area code and the exchange for more refined determination of where the call is coming from.

Thanks,
SMF

I recommend you start a new thread for this....I'm sure you'll get lots of help for beta testing, etc.

Default AreaCodeLookup

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the delay. I've added a ton of things and error checking to make this program as bulletproof as possible. You can now lookup area codes from the built in database and also enable and disable the incoming area code lookup.

bbapps.net

I'll send it to anyone to test out but am asking for $10 through Paypal if you like it. Sound ok? The money will all go to buying Buckhunter Safari standup game.

Any other features you guys want? My next program will be a Blackberry finder (gps, camera, turn ringer on remotely...) so you can find your Blackberry even if it's stuck on vibrate in the couch.

I'd love to try this program.

Thank you.

Best thing to do datboi would be to find the Desktop Manger installer download link (post #182 I think) and give it a try. That's what I'm doing. If it doesn't work, maybe wojc's app might work?

datboi - You can use JL_Cmdr to load it.

Load it up and there is an option for command line use that will launch a help file.

You will want to use: -u load "[file path]" to install the app.

You can use JavaLoader or DM.

I loaded this on my AT&T Bold and I am having issues with it.

I installed it via Desktop Manager, not ota.

I went into options and I enabled it.
Then made a call from a phone not in my phonebook, the 1st few calls went right to voicemail.

The 3rd attempt rang and it showed up regular caller id 111-111-1111 not the city or state.

I called with the same phone # to a Sprint Blackberry Curve with the app and it showed up Cincinnati, OH.

So it is working on a Sprint Curve, but not an AT&T Bold.

Any idea?

To whomever posted this first, thankyouthankyouthankyou. I gave my wife my 8320 when I got an 8900 but without Berry-A-Code, I didn't like it as much. Now that I have installed, I'm happy again.
