I was nervous also, especially reading all of the posts about people having problems after they installed 4.5.x x x.

So what I did was I waited until my carrier (U.S. Cellular) released 4.5 on their website and downloaded/installed it in less than 20 minutes.

It works perfectly!

Default How Do You View Blocked Numbers

Is there any software that would allow you to see blocked numbers that call your 8330,I wish antair would make this so we could see blocked numbers

Default Korean input?

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say thanks for all of your helpful tips on this forum. So I read a post about how to install Korean Input on the 8310. Could I follow those steps with this 8330 OS? or does this new beta OS have korean input? any feedback would be much appreciated

Default Latest OS: 8330 4.5.0.101/4.5.0.77 (Multilanguage)

"4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade. "

I did not get prompted to upgrade. It did nothing. Why? Upgraded DM and ran v4.5 install.

Help please.

CallerID is either sent or left off by the telco where the call originated. There is no way this is possible without obtaining a warrant for each trace and requesting the telco. Even then, they will (usually) only disclose the information to a law enforcement agency.

Short answer - No

I just got the 8330 from sprint on Monday and found it a little hard to believe it was running the 4.3 firmware. I just upgraded it and it went very smoothly as far as I can tell. KNOCK ON WOOD.

Why would you find it hard to believe that it shipped with 4.3? That phone you have was probably manufactured 6 months ago.

I just upgraded mine yesterday. (I am on TELUS)
Things to bear in mind that caught me:
- Make sure to delete the Vendor.xml file after you install the update
- Make sure you understand that you will see the hourglass for a LONG time when it is updating - this is normal - just let it finish what it is doing.

AFTER the update:
The only difference I noticed was for HTML email (which is a good feature btw).
I was expecting something else, however - I am not sure what other functionality is new - but I didn't see anything.
I thought the Icons would look like the Bold, but that didn't happen - everything works the same as it always has - except for the HTML part.
Maybe when TELUS support the latest BES upgrade some new features will magically appear - who knows....

Thank you Captain Obvious..... I work in the service industry and when I sell a widget to a client I make sure that it has the latest firmware. I guess not everyone does business this way.

WOOOHOOO!!!!!! I did it! I did it! Man to say I was nervous is an understatement. I followed the directions from the first page and BINGO everything installed perfectly. Although the documents to go was not checked in the programs to be installed so I checked it under options I think it was before I started the install and it was there when it finished. I will check back in a couple of days to update any errors I may have, but for now it ALL works perfectly. If you are nervous about the update just do it! I have only had my BB for 11 days. This is my first BB too.

GO FOR IT!!

Congrats. I think I'll wait for Telus official version for my 8330. I know that it would probably work but if it didn't then my business would hurt with a bricked phone. :s

Has anyone noticed any significant differences between this and .66? I think somebody may have asked but I don't recall reading an answer.

Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
Having a tough time finding this to delete it.

Also how do i get CB on my BB screen?
Help will be appreciated.

I get a message that says:

"The Application Loader Wizard requires the Blackberry Device Manager to be installed. Please contact customer support."

Then it will just stay in limbo on the "Checking For Device application updates." window.

Ive got Desktop Manager 4.6 and the 4.5 OS downloaded and installed. Thoughts?
