Post Bluetooth and data transfer

One very simply question.

Can the bluetooth protocol on the 83xx now be used to transmit/transfer data between itself and other bluetooth devices?

Nothing specific, just wanted to know if it will work. I have tried connecting to other phones to send data and keep getting errors or it just doesn't work. I have not tried however since I last updated my OS to the lastest on the forum, so I will try and see what happens.

Thanks.

Just today I was able to send an mp3 file over bluetooth to a Sony Ericsson phone. As you can see from many other posts (only if you used the "search") related to BT problems, only thing that is unique to BB is that you need to setup your BB to receive a file before the other device starts to send the data. Go to "Media" application on your BB and then select "Receive using Bluetooth" and then start sending a file from the other phone.

Sending files from phone to bb & vice versa works fine for me. Still unable to pair it with my computer to send files though :S. Also don't know what I did but I got my computer speakers to work with the media player on the phone via bluetooth =).

Wirelessly posted

Audio distribution works quite fine with the computer. Have you checked if you need to click receive with bluetooth on the computer, some BT software has this.

Have BT on my laptop and have used it with a BT headset and my old Palm PDA before, but could never seem to get it to work with the BB. Would be nice if I could sync the BB with BT.

See this thread for exchanging files with your computer. Title of the thread is misleading, but you should find answers on how to send/receive files b/n a Windows PC and the BB. It has always worked for me.

I've not tried using my computer as the speaker for audio streaming from the BB. If the default MS BT driver supports A2DP, I do not see why this should not work. I'll try it later tonight...
