Talking 16GB Micro SDHC cards IN stock at Best Buy!

Please Login to Remove!

Go get 'em! It wasn't showing on the Web site, or out on the floor- but I ask at my local Best Buy, they "checked in the back"... and I walked out with a 16GB card for $99!

If only the battery could handle the task, my BlackBerry would totally become my on-the-road MP3 player w/ the 16GB card. Guess that's the next step.

What brand? I can't find any on the major memory sites like Sandisk, Lexar or Kingston.

Nevermind, on Sandisk.com now for $99.00. All hail the 16GB!!

When it comes to memory cards, they're pretty much exactly the same as far as build quality

I'd like to hear if anyone w/a version of 4.5 less than 4.5.0.81 can make use of the 16 GB cards...supposedly that's the minimum 4.5 OS to use the 16 GB cards.

The most recent release available for the 8130 is only 4.5.0.77. :(

That is pretty amazing. Wonder how long until we see 1TB on a flash drive...

Don't get all us old fogies started...

I remember thinking how cool it was that all my software and all my data files fit on my one 360KB 5.25" floppy (and I mean a real floppy floppy...). :D Come to think of it, that was a kind of very portable computing.

So - anyone w/less than 4.5.0.81 tried a 16GB card yet? I'm dying for more space, but from what I've read you supposedly need 4.5.0.81 to support 16 GB...

It's about time 16GB cards came out. But $99 seems a tad high.

The 8 GB were that price a year or so ago...twice the capacity for the same price isn't too bad.

You can find them on eBay for less. Someone claimed from UK for much less, but I haven't seen a link or found them deeply discounted anywhere...$80s to $90s seems reasonable to me.

It won't be that high of a price for long, but I wouldn't wait for them to drop to $50 any time soon. The technology required to develop a 16gb flash card the size of a fingernail probably cost a few pennies...
