Default Deleting old network's email account on phone

Please Login to Remove!

I've just upgraded from a Pearl on the O2 network, to a Bold on the Vodafone network. I wanted to keep all my old data, so I used the option on the desktop software to export the data to the new device.

It worked great, except for one thing. The Bold now contains the old BIS account which I was using on O2, and sometimes when I send mail it tries to use it as the account. It says it sent successfully, but the mail never arrives. That's dangerous, so I want to delete that mail account from the device.

(I have used vodafone's mobileemail.vodafone.net website and set up a new BIS account, which is working great when it's properly selected when I send mail).

So, how do I delete the old account from my device ? Can I just delete the CMIME and CICAL service books for that account ? Will that also remove the icon for that account from the main menu screen ?

And, the big question is - if I do delete that account, will it delete all my old emails ? Hopefully not. And, what would happen if I went to an old email, and tried to forward it or reply to it ? Would it just use my new vodafone account, or would it get confused ?

Many thanks!

Yes. Delete those both service books. You won't lose the emails on the BlackBerry. And pull the battery to reboot.

Thanks JSanders,
I went and deleted them, and it's ok, except that if I try to forward or reply to an old email, there is no option for me to "send" the email.

Ie, I go to an old email, menu->reply, then type some stuff, and click the menu button, but there's no "send" option available....

Oh, well, not the end of the world, but annoying..

Chris
