I just got my Bold today. So far, I like it very much.

One issue I am having is this: I have it set to lock when put in the holster. Upon taking it out of the holster and unlocking, the Bold automatically opens and displays the most recently recieved email.

My Curve didn't do this and I cannot see any differences in settings.

It is not a BES setting either.

It's a feature that I like. My Blackberry 7130c I've been using for 2 yrs had it and my new Bold too. It's a helpful feature in my opinion. If you get a message while its in the magnet holster, as soon as you take it out, it will show you your message without any prompting.

If you dont want to see your new message when you unholster the phone all you have to do is wait for at least a minute. I dont see why it should be a problem that your phone pops up fresh messages when u unholster it as soon as the message comes in but that's just me, I guess.

I don't always want to read my messages or have them marked opened when I unlock.

It is a nusiance to have to close a message to use the Blackberry for another purpose.

Because I get 100s of emails a day from mulitple accounts, I do not have an audible or vibrate alert on emails, so I can't always wait for a minute to unlock. I would never be able to unlock the device for waiting a minute between mails.

Anyone else have a solution?

I agree that it is a nuisance. I looked all over and there doesn't seem to be any setting for this that I can find.

Yup mine does the same but mine goes to my SMS inbox cuz I am a text whore. Can wait to find the sleeve hate this belt clip, I don't think its professional at all and maybe with the Sleeve the problem wont be there.
