Quite a surprise at the store today..
Please Login to Remove!
Well while i was at the store today, talking to my usual rep, he showed me something pretty nice.
An HTC Diamond. He said he was testing it and it was going to come out here in Mid-November for ATT.
Right after that, he mentioned, when we were talking about the blackberry bold i was playing with, that ATT will most likely see another blackberry soon next year. He mentioned not to know too much, but he was informed that there will be a TOUCHSCREEN blackberry available for ATT next year. He doesn't know whether it was like a Verizon Storm type phone, or one of the supposed Bold/touchscreen combos, with touchscreen and tangible keyboard. It was very good news to here

Well, if the AT&T store salesperson said so, then it must be true.

Excessive sinicism is often worse than the rumor it is directed at. A store rep is often times more accurate in what information he has, than we are when dismissing him without any information of our own.
Now if you have information that contradicts what the OP's contact has, please, by all means start a thread in the Rumor Mill for all to read.

I couldn't disagree with you more.
Store reps often know squat.... and make up rumors and dates just to appear like they're in the know.
They're salespeople and will say whatever they want to say to keep you in the store and hold your attention.
The VAST majority of posts in this forum which have started out with the proverbial "I heard from a store rep..." have been inaccurate most of the time, and frankly it's grown pretty tiresome.
He might be right, but the odds are he's not.

No he isn't but I am.
Whie I agree that many do not know anything or only recite what they have heard on blogs and forums.
Some of us are far more informed. Of course they say stuff to keep you in store their job is sales.
while I grow tired of the "I heard from a rep" as well. I ignore or pass on those threads.
I am a sales pro thats what I do and I do it well. I don't have to use mis-info to keep customers attention.
most of us do not say "whatever we want"
but hey sounds like you are not in sales so you wouldn't understand anyway
yes often reps are bind as far as release info because companies do not disseminate but so far.
some of us mere sales reps have developed resources within and outside of the company and are far more informed than you would want to believe.
take some zoloft and relax

this guy is legit, he actually knows his stuff, considering he is testing the HTC diamond for ATT and let me play with it, he could get in serious trouble since it was in store haha.

hey hey calm down guys... This is the rumor section after all... we are free to post whatever we want that has not been 'officially' thrown out there...
I mean I heard a rumor from a good buddy of mine who I do trust... but it just seems very off the wall since it was never even mentioned anywhere on any BB forum I go to.. So I just keep it to myself.... rumors are becoming a very touchy subject apparently.

Nope. Anyone can post anything they want. I thought the OP's post was right in line and didn't require any sarcasm.

I guess that's up to some of the mods here.
There's definitely very inconsistent moderation in this forum. While a handful of the mods here are the "fair & balanced" type, there's clearly some who are the flip the side to that coin.
If I bump heads with some of the power-trip type moderators on occasion, then I suppose it's only a matter of time before one of them smacks me with the banhammer.
Some of the mods here clearly don't like being challenged. If that ends up being the end of me here, so be it.
I'll continue to help people out for as long as you folks allow me to. Anyone who wishes to go and look at my posting history will see that 99% of my posts are helpful, and accurate. I only drop the heavy sarcasm infrequently.

No, you're the one who was sarcastic to the OP and then to another mod. You can play the victim, but it's you who needs to relax a little.
