Default Using Browser while talking on phone?!

Please Login to Remove!

I don't know if this is 8330 specific (just happens to be my phone model).

Why am I not allowed to use the BB Browser while in the middle of a phone call? For instance, I'm in the car the other day chillin' in the passenger seat talking to my brother on the BB using the standard 2 ear bud headset and he asked me a question that I could have quickly googled and told him the answer to. The phone won't let me do that. It said I had to end the call first (something along those lines). What gives? I'm a bigboy! I can multi-task!

It's not multitasking that's the problem. It's transfering Call and Data at the same time. I think it's possible on 3G but not on anything else.

Wirelessly posted (8320 Titanium)

You can do it with wifi capable phones when connected to a network. Very cool. I do it everyday. scared the crap out of me the first time it happened...I was talking on the phone and then my email notifier went off in my ear...it was loud.

Not sure if you can do it on 3G or not, but wifi yes.

3G can do simultaneous voice and data. Great for tethering as you can take a call while browsing the web at the same time. You can also do voice and data at the same time over Wi-Fi if I'm correct. I've checked some e-mails on my BB while on a call.

So, is the Curve a 3G capable phone and just not so on the Verizon network? It says Qualcom 3G CDMA on the back bottom of the phone. I really don't know squat about networks - which provider uses what, etc...

You can't use data and voice at the same time on CDMA.
