Question UK BB USERS - Data charges question

Please Login to Remove!

I am an Orange UK customer and pay £2.50 for 250MB. However, I have checked out my bill and noticed that I have been charged for recieving my e-mails. This month I have used a total of 1.71MB costing around £2.70 to date.

Although this is still under my limit I am wondering why I am getting charged when I am paying £2.50 for 250MB?

Is this normal and at the end of the month they will calculate to see if I'm under my 250MB limit and only charge me £2.50 deducting the rest of the charges!? bit confused, have tried calling orange but been on hold for half hour!!! Hanged up, try again.

You shouldn't be charged for any data under 250MB. However Orange have a WAP service that can be accessed on a Blackberry called 'Orange World'. This they do charge for. Make sure your BB browser doesn't use 'Orange World'. To save money, avoid going to any 'Orange World' sites in your browser. - ignore all the 'Orange World Links' in the browser.

There is no orange world option on my blackberry. I have got through to customer service and although they can not give me exact details of what downloads I made they gave the times and times more or less match the times RIM downloaded e-mails from my OWA. There is a 10-15 delay to transfer e-mails from OWA to my handset, due to RIM checking every 15 min or so.

I should not be charged and I mentioned this to the CS guy. He just told me that its possible that charges will be calculated and deducted at end of month. Although, as far as i see it if I pay £2.50 for 250MB no charges should appear as long as I remain under the limit.

Confused
