Can I take my Sim card out of my I-phone and place inside a bold?

Yes. I've read threads where people are doing this. Check HowardForums: Your Mobile Phone Community & Resource and forums.cingular.com there are threads there. You won't get visual voicemail.

AT&T said, when I called, if they determine a iPhone is being used, they'll add an iPhone plan to the account. You can always argue then they need to credit you for the BB plan but they didn't give me an answer. I still may do it too, but right now the Bold is a pretty nice phone.

A SIM chip is a standard chip that carrys your Phone number (and contacts if you put them on there) they are universal to GSM phones that is the beauty of GSM take your SIM from one phone put it in another and your good to go. As long as both phones are from the same carrier or unlocked then you are good.

A SIM card is just a SIM card. Pulling it from the iPhone and placing it in the Bold will work but, you may have problems depending on what data plan is currently on your account. Having the iPhone data plan will block MMS ability. The Bold may not register on the RIM network. Certain functions and programs will not work if the Blackberry data plan is not in place. Having an iPhone provisioned on your account tends to wreak havok on the other handset when the SIM is placed in it. Hope this helps.

Wirelessly posted

I did this with mine. I pulled the sim out of my iphone and switched with my BB bold. I had to go to. A att store and have them switch the plans. I'm not sure why they couldn't do it over the phone.
