Any 3rd party applications?
Supposedly it also adds a VCast icon, although I'm not sure this would fall into the "3rd party" category.

Can anyone comment on whether this update fixes the "Sound in Holster" bug? When setting this to NO, the Storm still rings when it's in the holster.

BGR is also reporting there is a 4.7.0.76 version in the wild...

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 9530)

Accelerometer is much better, scrolling much faster. My screen has a funky issue where it will sometimes overlay the horizontal screen over the vertical screen so it looks like a weird TV screen. Overall I'm very pleased.

First I want to state the following... I wanted my Storm since I first read about it several months ago. I would not trade it for my 8830 (handed down to significant other). I was prepared to wait out any updates or fixes. I was delighted to see that it has "emerged" so quickly.

Well... FWIW... 4.7.0.75 has dramatically improved the following in my case.

1. Video camera does not lock up device after a 20 second recording. In fact I recorded an 11 minute, 31.4mb video without troubles.
2. Accelerometer seems improved... in fact I can't make mis-behave.
3. The camera seems to be much faster. While I have not ever really "tested" for this problem, I always felt that the flash on the camera was not in sync with the shutter. It now seems that the flash is in sync AND the camera seems to also be faster.

These are my observations. I look forward to others.

Is there any difference between doing the OS via computer with DM and doing the Verizon OTA upgrade?

I just finish uploading .75 and the accelerometer definitely seems a lot faster and more consistent. So far I can't get it to freeze up like before. The camera is not as laggy and the flash does seem to be more on time because now when i take pictures i won't get just a black picture every once in a while.

You don't have to have a BES account to use this download.
Accelerometer is greatly improved. Camera still lags a bit but not as much as before. Scrolling seems much improved as well.

This is a welcome addition and is significant improvement in overall performance.

Sametime stopped working - installed storm version of sametime VIA javaloader like I did under the the previous platform, icon doesn't appear anywhere. I assume unique sametime version released for storm needs to be tweaked to work under .75

Other than that .75 working great so far as other have reported.

Ummm, scratch that... looks like some of the modules didn't load like I thought so i repeated the process, pulled battery and there it is. My bad.

Sametime now works in portrait and landscape mode where it was funky under the previous platform. Very good!

I don't think .75 will be what is released. I don't think .76 is either based on some bugs BGR mentioned. They did promise this week though so it will be interesting to see what it is.

The site for the OS…v4.7.0.75 (Platform 4.0.0.94) upgrade:
(you have to use IE, not Firefox to view)

BlackBerry - Update your Device Software

You will need to have your phone hooked up to your computer to execute the download of the upgrade. It will take anywhere from 20-45 minutes to complete the upgrade process.

here is couple of things,

mp3 playback is normal now, going to the next song, etc, listing songs (with over 400 songs on the phone)
video player > videos transferred from tivo, and converted to psp/iphone from time to time would reboot the phone, it doesnt do that anymore

Same thing happened to me. I uninstalled EVERYTHING on my computer (BlackBerry Desktop, BlackBerry OS update, etc.) and cleaned the registry.

I then reinstalled and the update worked as advertised. All things were updated (about 5-8 line items vs. the single "Core Apps" as per the above).

One other finding - on a battery pull, there is now a light-colored status bar on the bottom of the screen. I imagine this was added for new BlackBerry users who thought their device hung when it was starting up.

My battery life is WAY better. Where before my battery lasted 15-20 hours (aka down to 5%), it's down to 65% now after 12 hours. Brilliant!
