Default Help! Im a new blackberry user.

i have an 8310 (at&t) and my os. is 4.2.2.170.

Please help a couple questions. sorry for being a newb!

1. should i upgrade to the os. 4.5.0.99? is there a newer update?

2. I dont have internet on my phone. should i get it? im very used to iphone internet so would it look similar to those standards?

3.Is there anything else i should be doing to my blackberry?

Welcome to the forums.

4.5.0.99 is the latest official release available for your device at this time. There are probably beta devices available. You should be fine with .99.

I would recommend a BlackBerry data plan. The browser will not compare to that of the iPhone. You could install Opera Mini, it may suit you better.

Could you elaborate a bit more as to what you would like to do with your blackberry?

i want to use my email and use the internet like a basic computer..my only concern about getting internet is that the 8310 doesnt have wifi, and i dont want to wait forever to load pages

I don't use AT&T, I am not sure how slow EDGE is. I am use to the EVDO speeds of Verizon. From what I've read, Opera Mini loads pages rather quickly.

If you're coming from the first gen iPhone, you should load pages in about the same amount of time.
