Default Berrytunes update available...

Please Login to Remove!

For those who haven't noticed. The folks at Virtual Views have been busy...there have been several interim updates to Berrytunes and version 2.5.11 is now available.

Just select "update" from within Berrytunes, or you can also browse to their OTA URL for updates or new installs:

BerryTunes 2.5

Recent updates include:

* Minimize Network Connections in Radio & Podcasts
* Single Click Navigation
* Save MP3 position when paused
* Expand and contract Nodes when clicked
* Minor adjustments to menu
* Added World Music Category to Radio
* Workaround for DNS issues on some carriers
* Ticker now moves back and forth
* Alt + roll trackball to ff/rw 1 minute in MP3 Player
* Prevent devices without WiFi from selecting WiFi
* Workaround for premature end of stream
* Improved Podcast Resume feature

The thing I like best about the changes is that actions in the UI are single-click now, and the Podcast/MP3 resume features/improvements are very nice. The update also fixed issues caused by some badly behaving podcasts servers that I sometimes had difficulty connecting to.

Now if I could just figure out how I could get paid to sit around all day listening to internet radio and podcasts, I'd be set. ;)

If you're looking for GUI eye-candy, this is not the app for you.

You'd have to try it to see why I (and others) like it so much.

The GUI on it is certainly not "bad." It is very simple, you could even say simplistic, but it works very well, is very easy to learn/navigate, and is very quick. (I should note I use it solely for Radio/Podcasts, not for MP3 playback.)

More importantly, this is the best performing app I've found for streaming radio/podcasts to my Pearl...no other app I've tried (and I've tried every one I've seen covered here and elsewhere) streams audio as smoothly and consistently, w/out hiccups and skipping, etc.

Combine the simple, easy to learn/use UI and strong streaming performance and you have a great app.

Yes, it supports stereo BT streaming. Audio output options are:

Speaker phone
Phone Handset
Mono Bluetooth
Stereo Bluetooth

I use it in speaker phone mode and stereo BT w/my various BT headsets. Also use it via audio cable in my son's car, which has an Aux input but lacks BT.
