I administer a number of clients, and I had an issue today where one of them got a new 5 CAL BES pack. But, when I go to update the licenses in License Management, it tells me: "The license key being entered is not compatible with existing keys in the license manager. Please contact point of sale or Blackberry support for assistance."

The new key starts with bescal, and the current key starts with besx35. My suspicion is that the install is a BPS and the key is for a BES. Anyone confirm that? Or, how do I know which my install is...BPS or BES?

Also had issues applying BES SP5 to a server yesterday, and got a message that implied that I needed to provide a trade up key. Any thoughts on that would be awesome too.

If asked for trade up key then you have BES pro most likely

Return your bescal and get one for the correct version of BES.
