Putting available space aside, is it better to import a wav or mp3 ringtone to your phone? I'm looking for clarity and loudness.

The best and fastest way is to use mass storage mode if it's an MP3 or WAV, there is no need to convert it.

I'd say wav, because its not compressed like mp3s and it will have the most clarity. But wavs will also be 10 times larger in size compaired to standard quality mp3s.
