For the first time ever, I got the 507 screen. My PC is now running Vista Business (32-bit) and got the "fatal install error" twice. Great. Luckily I still have the HD with XP in it.

Edit: now it has a 561 error? WTF? I'm trying it now with the PC running XP and it's not working. Ideas? I'm trying it through loader.exe and it cannot connect to the device, and I'm plugged to a USB port directly to the PC. Should I wipe the phone?

Edit 2: took out battery and it went back to 507, ran loader.exe again and it succeeded. However since the initial install failed, I didn't have a current backup, oh well.

Way off topic, but why is Viigo such a resource hog?? Annoying since it is my favorite app for the blackberry but I can't run it in background mode all day because it crashes my berry at least once a day.

Anyone else missing an option for a WiFi browser after this upgrade? I only show "Internet Browser", "t-zone" and "HotSpot"... I used to have WiFi browser as an option.

Why did you not back-up the device? I never do any upgrades/changes without doing a full backup.

I'd much rather err on the side of caution during these upgrades.

To those who have not upgraded yet to this release, I suggest you do so. This is by far one of the best upgrades so far. The device is much snappier and the OS is very stable. Although, I occasionally still have the issue of the UMA being eratic.

I got rid of my Viigo and running the AP news instead and like it a lot better. Not as much of a memory hog and provides all the news that I need and want.

I have seen the same thing...after upgrading the wifi connection at my house has been more stable. but then going to my fathers house, it won't connect at all. I have erased and tried to reconnect, but I still have issues at his house on a linksys router with dd-wrt firmware.

when at his house, my bb will display tmobile-his ssid, but the wifi symbol will stay greyed out and the phone won't go to uma coverage.

wifi works fine everywhere else...

It has been 4 days since I installed the .110 OS, and there is no problems occurred yet. I think it has a little improvement of memory utilization and a huge improvement of battery utilization... nice update..

Does anyone have problems with media sync??
MP4 files are fine.
.avi files mpeg4 etc play fine *unless* they clitch or you fast forward/rewind them at all, and when you do that the audio sync goes out by about 10seconds every time guarantee'd. this is on files i've had working fine before etc even.

Can someone else try it please. thanks Converting to mp4 is a pain :( and ruins the ease of chucking a few episodes of tv shows on the BB every other day to watch when i get bored.

Got 4.5.0.110 on my device yesterday and immediately saw in improvement in performance. When I just did the upgrade and checked my memory I was seeing 14+ free memory. On another note however, I noticed for the first time after over two years that Viigo, my favourite app, is a really memory hog. My free memory went from high 14+ to low 9+ after loading this app.

However, all in all, great update.

On occasion (Happened 3 times now) I am getting a re-boot on the Curve when I turn on my Best Buy Insiginia NS-BTHDP Stereo headphones and the 8320 attempts to connect. Has anyone else seen re-boots when turning on a BT headset?

When I did an upgrade from 4.2 to 4.5, I noticed that all my downloaded apps were gone. Will doing this OS upgrade delete my apps again? If so, what can I do to prevent that from happening? Thanks...looking forward to try it based soley on the improved battery life.

If you don't wipe the device before installing the new 4.5 OS version it should keep them. In the FAQ there's a way listed to save third party applications in case they are deleted. Do that just in case.
