Weird theme issue
Please Login to Remove!
The Precision Zen theme that ships with the Storm is supposed to have an image with lightning as the vertical background image, right? Does anyone see this image? Because I don't. My default image is the Verizon checkmark logo. Although the thumbnail image on the theme selection screen does indeed show a lightning image.
Weird thing is that I have a lag every now and then when I go from mail back to my homescreen, and just now, during that lag, the lightning image flashed briefly and I could see it as the background image.
Anyone have any comments?

Mine does this exact same thing. It just started recently and I have no idea why. I've never used the lightning wallpaper before and thought it was quite odd when it started showing up.

My guess is that Verizon modifies the default theme and makes it use their image instead of the lightning, but the lightning image is probably always "there" and is replaced on the fly with the Verizon image when necessary. But where is it? Do you actually see the lightning image on the file system somewhere? I don't.

Verizon modifies the theme to use their default image as the wallpaper. Same w/ ATT, Vodafone, etc etc.

I just said that
That much is obvious. Trying to figure out why the lightning image is still "there."

I don't have much to add other than I can corroborate the rare glimpse of the bolt...
Perhaps, when we have more themes, if we select this theme the bolt will magically reappear if you change from another one back...
I mentioned a while back I couldn't locate the background, it's probably hidden somewhere not in Device Memory... For sure it isn't on the card.

No, I don't see the lightning image anywhere. For me this actually started after I changed my wallpaper to an included sample image on the phone versus one I had downloaded previously. So for me it appears to be an issue with all included wallpapers.

I get that occasional glimpse of the lightning screen as well. However, that lightning wallpaper is not even available on my Storm.
Weird!!!

Images are embedded IN themes, so a theme doesn't actually store the image file in device memory. Verizon screwed this one up anyway because we're all also getting errors in the event logs that refer to "missing images."

I never see the "lightning" image. But, I do occasionally see the default verizon wallpaper when switching apps, unlocking, etc. This was the case with the curve as well and the default home screen.

I just noticed this happening after I read this post. It only showed up for a second, however that was on Storm #3. I have since been back to best buy and now have storm #4. This storm is made in Mexico and has the same model # as the other 3, however this one came with .75 installed and the screen feels totally different, it is very firm and comfortable. I have yet to see the lightning bolt picture as of yet on this device.

Rather then looking for the lightning picture why dont you find the verizon picture and delete that? Wouldn't that work??

One of the most irritating things about Verizon is when they "skin" their phones and there's no easy way to get rid of it. For BB or Pocket PCs though, you can always replace the theme pic with your favorite wallpaper. The old Audiovox 4400 I had, you had edit it using some PC app and rewrite the file.
Is it possible that once unlocked, the logo goes away? Would that account for the missing "skin"?
