Hi guys,
I noticed that while there is a lot of software for blackberries, there isnt a lot for the storm!
right off bb's website, there are titles like derek jeter baseball that I was going to try and it doesnt work on the storm.
Is this device so new that software development for it is not up to date?
There is a limited amount of software available for the strom at this moment in time. Surely should have a load in the near future! Something I am looking forward too...
You are correct that there is a limited amount of software for the Storm the works. There is a lot of software that says it is for the Storm but doesn't actually work. You must be very careful and try to only buy software that you can trial before paying. I can tell you from personally experience that much of the time, if there is no trial it doesn't work. I say this because I have been suckered several times by seemingly reputable software vendors, whose products work well on other BB's but don't on the Storm.
If you are looking for business and productivity software, there are a number of programs that work quite well. There are no themes out yet, and I can't speak to the issue of ringtones as I am satisfied with those that come with the Storm. I don't do games so I can't speak to that issue either.
But, as has been observed , hang in there and there will be plenty of software soon. RIM just released a developers package specifically for the Storm and tha should result in a bunch of new software in a month or so. 73
I've found that a lot of the 3rd party software I used on my 8830 isn't listed specified yet as being compatible or not for the Storm, so I've tried the trick mentioned in lambdacoreaz's thread here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...questions.html to give apps a try if you want.
