I did not switch on the desktop manager. I simply plugged my BB curve to my desktop to see the media files. My desktop does not recognize BB as a device. Whats wrong?
My desktop manager recognizes BB. But my problem is different. Without desktop manager, my desktop computer does not show BB device. Earlier I was able to see the media files of BB without desktop manager.
assuming you've checked that mass storage has been enabled on your device, it sounds like a driver issue. try using a different USB port, maybe even rebooting your PC.
not sure how old your machine is, but my motherboard uses USB 1.1 and not USB 2.0. I have USB expansion PCI card installed, and my computer wont recognize my blackberry through the USB 2.0 ports, but will on the USB 1.1 slots.
Scenario 1:
OS on my desktop is Windows XP.
Desktop Manager is installed and is V4.7. However, I did not start the DM.
Windows explorer shows the BB as Removable Disk (Drive E) and fails to read the data card.
Scenario 2:
I tried with Windows Vista on my colleague's comp. Windows Vista recognized that it is Blackberry device and started looking for driver and failed to find one. My colleague's desktop does not have device manager installed. Windows explorer displayed my BB as Removable Disk (Drive E).
How do I "wipe" my BB from the desktop? Please note that my BB keyboard does not respond (Earlier I thought that it is due to wetness, but after enough drying, the situation is the same).
So, the only option is to wipe the BB from desktop. Is there a tool that can help me?
I have a similar issue-new Bold, new micro-card-DESKTOP MGR recognized both the device and the card long enough to load a bunch of videos -nowhere near card capacity...NOW, Desktop manager "sees" the BB, but not the card--have rebooted the phone, the computer, reconnected....the BB sees the card and i can access the files on the phone, but now cannot add/delete with Roxio/Desktop as the device is seen, but not the card...wassup??
