Default Just replaced my LCD and phone still doesn't work!

Please Login to Remove!

The screen just kind of changes colors. It doesn't work. I am guessing my phone is just a paper weight now, huh?

You should still be under warranty.

I tried to get it replaced before replacing the LCD, but they said since I am with T-Mobile, they won't replace it for me. I am thinking about going directly to AT&T because this is quite ridiculous to be honest. A phone this expensive should hold up better than this.

You should be able to get a warranty replacement from RIM.

They wouldn't do it either. I went all the way up and talked to a supervisor and they still said no. And now that it has been opened up, I don't think I have ANY chance of getting a new one. This is SO frustrating!

Well if you replaced the lcd chances you opened up the housing which voids any warranty. So good luck. I would suggest calling up horizon and telling them ur situation

I bought the LCD from cnn.cn, not horizon. Even then, I don't think that horizon could do anything about it because don't they just sell parts? Would they be able to fix the phone for me if it is an internal problem?

The parts on cnn.cn are all OEM.

Quote from cnn.cn FAQ.

4. Are your parts OEM or aftermarket knockoffs?
Our parts are 100% OEM unless specified as aftermarket. They will be the same material as the item you remove from your phone.

How long did it take cnn.cn to send you a new LCD? What shipping option did you use? I live in the U.S. and I may need to get a new LCD for my bold.

I live in FL and have ordered from CNN on many occasions and have to say that standard shipping. I most recently ordered side rails for my 8800 and it took 2 weeks for me to receive it. Once it finally arrived at the main postal unit, which is no more than 15 miles away from where I live. The item remained at the main postal units for 3 days before finally being sent over to postal unit that delivers in my area.

I then ordered my black bezel and keypad for my 9000 and opted for 2nd day air, even though it was more costly. I received it in 2 days exactly.

It took about 14 days to get the LCD and a black bezel, but then again, that was around christmas time when mail is slow.

The new LCD does have basically the same problem as the old. It is obviously something internal that is causing the issue. What exactly is a PCB?

pcb is the circuit board.

you are on the money. your issues are definitely not the lcd, but failure somewhere else.

I mean the first LCD is for sure damaged, but aside from that, there is something else going too.
