Default BeeJive for Storm update.

Please Login to Remove!

Just got this email from BeeJive:

Hi,

We do understand your frustration and apologize for this situation. We
are already working on BeejiveIM version for the Storm device and is on
our priority now. Positively, we should be able to release it by the end
of February 2009.

Thank you very much your patience and understanding!

Well, at least there is a semi-concrete deadline. Either way, I can't wait for it to come out. The RIM AIM client is just not doing it for me.

Me neither... jeez. I don't even use it :( I just use BBM and sometimes live. It's not the same without Beejive :(.

Amen to that. I'm not a heavy user of Beejive, but I won't even turn that AIM crap on. Blech.

Hey fellas,

Excuse my ignorance but I assume "BeeJive" is a I.M. program? I've never used it before, how much better is it than lets say BB instant messenger?

thanks in advance!

BBM is for BB clients ONLY.
BeeJive is for ALL clients (AIM, Yahoo, MSN, GTALK, Myspace, etc) and it's GREAT. It allows people from computers to talk to you, or other people that have it installed on other phones.

Once again BBMessenger uses your PIN, which BeeJive only uses your normal account on your computer. I myself made a NEW account JUST for my BB as it's online all day

does anybody have an update on this. It is absolutely ridiculous that they haven't released a strom version by now, especially since a lot of us have already paid for it.

Mod post on Beejive's support forums last week:

"We don't have an exact date, but we have been working on it for the past few months. Right now it looks like beta in late April..."

So.... hopefully, just one more month.

A BETA... by late April? Not at all acceptable. Not one bit.

I guess it's just another former favorite program I won't be able to use.

The funny thing about this is that I haven't had the use of it for so long (I purchased my STORM on the first date it was released) that I have discovered that I really DON'T NEED IT!
I use the AIM, GoogleTalk and YAHOO clients that allow IM conversations to appear in my message list. Really efficient and really FREE.
My only regret is that I purchased a BeeJive license in the first place. Their lack of priority to their STORM customers is really a sobering thought in this economy. Caveat Emptor I guess.

No flames please. The above is my opinion as a FORMER customer.

I agreed. Besides, BeeJive had a problem with their server when I was on my bb 8300. It showed I was active but the rest of my contacts saw me offline. Once I use my storm. I am ok with gTalk and MSN. Furthermore, I think BeeJive will charge to update/switch from one device to other. Correct me, if I am wrong

Depends on which license was purchased. They offer two; one is good for one Blackberry and the other (I think $10 more expensive) you can move from one BB to another.

Are either of you aware that there is a beta available for the Storm? Have you used it? From the sound of your posts you have not.
