Default How to schedule push mail

Please Login to Remove!

Just like the title says, is there a way to schedule when to receive certain push mail?

For example, when i'm at work, I rather not receive email, but from the hours of say 6pm - 11pm I want to receive the mail.

Anyway to schedule this?

I'm on a Flip Pearl btw on the Rogers Network.

Thanks,

Nope. With the BB, push email is automatic. No way, other than to disable your email accounts or turn off data service.

You might be able to set up your PC email client not to leave mail on server so once mail is downloaded it will not get pulled by RIM and pushed to the BB. That might get most of it. However, you would need to either turn off your PC Email client and/or the PC or go into advanced settings and check "Leave Mail on Server" to get mail flowing to the BB again.

ahh...too bad. Seems like a simple enough feature. I thought I could simply disable the email account on my BB, but it's not quite that easy. I have to actually go and delete the email account.

Thanks tho

You don't. You change your alert profile. If you don't want to read email then don't.

I guess what I am trying to get to is that I have a 500MB plan, and I rather receive work email during the hours that I am at home on the WiFi (so that I'm not eating up my plan).

You're method just won't alert me of new mail, but the mail will still be in my inbox.

I would have to agree. I use my BB for heavy data use and tether from time to time and have never gone over 500MB

And I've got users who email very heavily and don't do much else and are barely using 10MB per month.

Default Disable redirection in cradle

It sounds like it's no longer an issue but another way around this would have been to chose the option to "Disable Redirection in Cradle in Desktop Manager" on your PC. By "in cradle" they mean connected via USB. I have several end users who like this setting despite not having a data limitation. It would only work while the Blackberry is connected to the computer and there are a few other limitations but if you did run into problems with the amount of data you're using it's something to consider. Although as others have mentioned, email is unlikely to be eating up a lot of data.

I believe this is only an option for BES users.

And only the subset of BES users who choose to use the redirector, which is not recommended as it is quite buggy.

It's funny, because the very next day after I created this thread, I got my first bill.

I used to own a BB 7250 a few years back with Bell, but had unlimited back then.

Anyways, I used to only use my blackberry for IM, email, and facebook. Out of the 500MB, I only used 7000kb, only 1.4% of my allowable data .

So now I'll just email away and add more push email accounts ...

What are some really data heavy activities to stay away from? I'll save those for my WiFi zones. ie. Youtube?

I'm finding this very interesting. Here in South Africa I pay about $7 extra per month and all the activity via the blackberry apn is free. Well... Inclusive. So all the email are "free of charge". I though this was a normal thing.

I pay $30 a month here in the US for ATT's "unlimited" personal BB Internet service (BIS) which includes Internet and email.

It's a known fact that Canada over charges for the wireless services.

My wife and I both have 500MB plans with all your standard options like unlimited weekends, evenings, etc.

Me: 45/month (500MB)
Her: 35/month (500MB)

Me: 11/month for caller id/voicemail
Her: 11/month for caller id/voicemail

6.95 system access fee each

.99 911 fee each

in total: $118 before taxes

Thank god! I want to emigrate to the States some time and if I can't get unlimited BlackBerry service I might not do it! HAHA! Just kidding!
