Default IM included with 4.0?

Did a search and identified that 7100 has IM configured and there was a belief that 4.0 would include for other handhelds (I have a 7290). I have installed 4.0 but don't see a "native" IM application. Did I misinterpret other posts or ?

Thanx

I share your confusion - I thought versions 3.8 and above included an IM program by OZ Software. Apparently, that is wrong and there is some OZ software on the device but it relates more to the SMS capability. I have never received a clear answer though as to what it is and how you use it. I use Webmessenger for IM because there does not seem to be a built-in program.
Maybe someone on the forum can clear this up?

There is no IM package included in 4.0. OZ was a 7100 application that I think was installed or linked from the tmobile site or when receiving the device brand new.

That explains why it wasn't on my Roger's machine. I guess all that turkey is affecting my brain! I'll be fine!

I could be wrong but the IM stuff the carrier is talking about might be wep based IM. Like T-Zones from T-Mobile, you can run AOL and Yahoo Messenger.

Since I don't have a 7100 I wouldn't know, but I'd bet the OZ IM software that comes with the TMO 7100 is probably downloaded to the device when you register it. Again I'm guessing...
