Lock button has the same effect as the "K" key shortcut. Locks the phone and displays the Owner info on the screen. To Unlock the phone, just push the Lock button again. This is the same as the "* + Answer" button combo.
The Mute button silences the phone when an alet is triggered (I.e you want to stop it vibrating or ringing without reading the message or answering the call). A double-tap sends the incoming call straight to voicemail. During the call, it mutes the mic so that the party on the other line does not hear the conversation on your side of the phone.
