When I switched to a case with sleep mode on my 8320, there were noticeable gains in battery life. Maybe, 25%.

Presence of a magnet that enables sleep mode is not a guarantee of reduced battery drain. The Speck holster sold by T-mobile for 8900 has the sleeper function that works perfectly, yet drains battery like crazy.
