Default Blackberry Curve 8310 and AT&T Prepaid?

Please Login to Remove!

I was thinking of buying an unlocked BB Curve and using a prepaid sim card for it.

I know that the internet wouldn't work but I don't mind, since I'm usually a voice/sms type of guy and I REALLY like the BB.

So can this work? Where would I get a SIM card? Can you buy them?

And can I always buy like an unlimited text package for a prepaid AT&T account?

LOVE this site btw, and thank you!

Personally I don't see why this wouldn't work. As long as the phone is unlocked, shouldn't matter what service you use as long as you have that SIM card.

You get the SIM card when you get a prepaid plan -- probably can get it at any AT&T wireless store or even in places like Walmart or Target?

Thanks for the reply!

Now, are there any legit stores that will sell Blackberrys? Like private stores? I'm not much of an ebay fan since I've been scammed before.

It's harder to find places that sell unlocked Blackberrys. Aside from ebay or Craigslist, the only other places that come to mind are ethnic cell phone stores. In Cali a lot of the asian places have a greater selection of phones. But it may be expensive becase you're paying an unlocked phone.

If I was going to have a BB without data, I would get a Pearl, it's perfect for that.
