If you start a new theme and only put in that banner image in does it still error out?

I wonder if it's an issue with the image file you're using....

i'm actually using the native banner, the 7100i stock banner image. even just changing the battery and signal strength indicators to red won't fly. i've been able to change the colors and backgrounds and images of everything else except anything in that banner tab! arrrghhhhh! so frustrating! i keep getting that SVG compile error. guess i'll have to email plazmic and ask what exactly that error means.

I'd probably be inclined to say "make sure you have all the newest Java packs and development packages"...only because I've not had any problems.

Try this, start a new theme and export it right away. It'll complain that nothing has been changed, but export anyway. See if that still gives the error. If it does, it's probably some sort of software incompatibility. In that case, uninstall the CDK, the SDK, and the JRE (i think that's the three) then go to www.java.com and make sure you have the newest version of the JRE. Install it, then the SDK, then the CDK and see if that works.

funny, last night i installed java 5.0. turns out i was missing that when i installed that large packet from java.com that included a bunch of stuff. so, chalk this one up to operator error or in hood terms, my bad.

Default 8700 Theme

Well, since I have to wait for mine to get here tomorrow, I spent all day creating a theme for it. Since my current phone is an 7290, with V4.0.2.XX I can't install one for it, so I went ahead and prepared a 8700 theme in advance. I posted a thread on the 8700 forum with some questions for those that have already received theirs and installed a new theme. Please check it out.

8700 Theme Thread

Won't waste server space by posting a duplicate image.

Thanks

Default finally finished!!!!!!!!

ok...........i've got it loaded in two different versions. i'm loving it! I'll still be making minor tweaks, but this is pretty much like my beta version.
like i said, i tried to make the new icons make sense, so i know the walking fingers technically arent a superhero, but have you ever been stranded somewhere and needed to call a cab and gone to a phone booth and used the yellow pages? lifesaver qualifies the fingers for superhero status!

you'll have to do what?

zro......on the images you posted, how did you get screenshots of the menus/dialogs? using the emulator? i'm in the dark on that stuff. my area of design is video effects (avid and a little AE)/editing, so if you could tell me specifically how i'd appreciate it (i would eventually figure it out, but i appreciate the time savings if you could point it out).

btw....ill themes zro! the menus on the runes theme are very cool. the look and icons on the kde are very clean...great work!

OK, not that I'm doubting that 4.1 handheld software is needed to be loaded on the BB cuz I wasnt able to load it on mine, I have a 7250, 4.02 software. But my question is with the webside and here's what they say....
================================================== ===========
Compatibility
Plazmic Content Developer's Kit v4.1 for BlackBerry is compatible with the following software:

BlackBerry Software v3.7, v3.8, v4.0 and v4.1 (all networks)
================================================== ============
I'm a little confused w/that, can anyone explain?

I believe this is because the Theme Builder is not the only thing in the CDK. The other items can probably produce applications/objects that are compatible with the earlier versions of the HH software. Only v4.1 can seems to be able to change themes on the fly(Not sure about this but . . .)

Hope this helps.

How do you change the colour of the Calendar appointment bars, and the icons in the inbound/outbound/missed icons in the Call Log?

Basically I just want to edit the default Rogers theme (Dimension-icon) so that it uses the Calendar colours and Call Log icons of the Insight-Icon theme.

Is this possible?

How did you turn your new theme into a ALX/COD file? I can't figure that one out.

File/export or the funky button on the tool bar that look's like an atom. Hope this helps. - rcbjr

Wirelessly posted (BB 7100i: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

After you've finished your theme, go to file, export, then when the dialog box comes up check the circle that says "alx". It will make alx and cod files.

Yo bigred, you can't change the color of any of the items you mentioned. Atleast not yet.

But what if I was creating a theme from scratch? What would decide the colour of those items? Perhaps a global default, or something specified in a config file somewhere?

Orr, is there any way to edit the Insight-Icon theme? Then you could use its default colours, but add on the Dimension header, menus, etc...?

I've been playing around with the theme maker a little. I like the Orange theme style that has a folder for Applications that opens up to get to all your apps. Does anyone know how to do this? I'd like to be able to have a folder for Apps, one for Games, one for Options, etc.
